Perfect sailing conditions on Friday and Saturday at St. Barths Bucket

March 18, 2018

Friday’s Superyacht fleet started their 14-square-mile distance race around the island of Saint-Berthélemy under sunshine and 13-15 knot breezes. Six classes were sailing counter-clockwise courses ranging from 21 to 25 nm in distance.

Saturday morning saw 12-15 knot breezes that softened down to about seven knots around afternoon. The Bucket fleet sailed 22-25 nm on the western side of St. Barths around Ile Fourchue and Roche Table. 23 Superyachts were sailing in five pursuit classes and three J-Class yachts racing in their separate fleet racing class.

Sunday’s course will send the fleet around St. Barths where spectators might be able to watch the Superyachts in action from many of the island’s 14 beaches.
